Today included passing Lake Wendouree in Ballarat and of course I had to say hello to these swan babies gliding around in the winter sun. Swans are monogamous, vegetarian, and very good parents. What's not to love?
Swans are not.......that word which I can't spell. They root around behind their life partner's back. DNA tests on the Albert Park swans have proved it.
we're blaming the world wide wiki for the disinformation - "Swan - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swan - Swans form monogamous pair bonds that last for many years, and in some cases these can last for life."
And so cute too - when they are not being bully boys. Thinking back to the last time we fed them when they were big on nipping if we were not fast enough.
does anyone know how to delete a Follower ? I loathe Indonesia, and remember General Wiranto who murdered my friend at Balibo. I do not want comments from Indonesians or any connection to resorts there. I have never holidayed in asia and will never. cesspit of disease and animal cruelty.
Annie, I stole your ducks and set it as wallpaper so do you want your copyright in chocolates or wine?
Agree about Indonesia but they treat their people the same way as the animals and so do the Chinese, never visit there. Country Life soap doesn't use palm oil and supports our Zoo in helping the orungutangs and it's cheaper than any other. And those cattlemen, send them to an Indo abbatoir for a week then give them their blood money.
SO not like the emu then!!!
ReplyDeleteSwan babies mustn't mind the cold, there are quite a few at Albert Park Lake too. So cute.

I thought they ate worms and underwater stuff that swims, that's not vegetarian.
ReplyDeleteNice to see water in the lake again and the swanlings.

p.s. Dug through the last six posts and really enjoy the variety here. I know nothing of Australian politics, of course, but I like how you think. :-)
... No, sorry. Do not know how to delete a follower -- I do think there is a way to block one though, although I can't remember where I read that...

Sorry for the rant I thought I was emailing you. WV is 'cesse', they are always watching.
ReplyDeleteThey are so lovely - and the babies so delicate and vulnerable - thanks for this
