and After.

I'm on a weight-loss diet.

Update: after 27 highly disciplined days without any edible fun, I am one kilo lighter. one.

  2. Bit hard to tell with Dawn but Peter looks way different. My metabolism slowed a few years back and I'm no longer able to eat as much of anything I wanted. I do okay as long as I'm not drinking too much caffeine. I too hope it goes well for you.

  3. 'First World'-wide obesity is probably caused by medication.
40 years ago Big Pharma did not exist, and the general psyche of society was very different.
I only know one person not taking anti-depressant medication, and she actually needs to because she want to leave her husband (for no good reason). A bit of serotonin would calm her down from that (and chunk her up a bit as she doesn't weigh much).
My other friend who survived her own 'Battle With Cancer' and the subsequent 5 years on Tam*xifen, chunked up quite a bit, which makes me wonder when Our Koilyie is going to chunk up. Maybe she does not need Tam*xifen. strange though.

  4. I don't know what causes obesity, but I do reckon it need a holistic approach in defeating it. i.e. diet, exercise, attitudinal change, lifestyle change, and a bloody huge dollopof self-discipine. Good luck, old girl.

  5. I've always been freaked by Peter Jackson looking like NZ's version of our very own postal worker, Albert Langer.

P.S. Gerry, what's with the 'old girl'? She's a youngster at heart - and soul.

  6. I think it can be hard when you are sad and have to comfort-eat, and then the medication forces rotundity, which makes people eat more because they are now not happy with their body image as well.

People need to know they are loved and supported. It seems to be one of the only ways to help change the cycle. I do not know you physically Ann, but I do know you are a kind and generous person. (And you have an excellent penchant for the beautiful.) Hold onto that knowledge of your own goodness and beauty. You are a good person and you deserve good things.

    Be kind to yourself.

    xx

  8. I am no lightweight but lately some of the kids and young adults seem to be so fat they appear blown up as if filled with fluid - you have twenty year olds in strappy clothes they shouldn't wear with dowagers humps - I am with you re the chemicals and one that has been in 90%of the Australian water supply since the 1960's - Sodium silico Fluoride - industrial grade straight from Alcoa and the factory stacks of china - The Russians used it to keep prisoners compliant ! My thought and a lot of science to back it
