from my window

The day after we endured 44.3 degrees celsius and a howling wind, the sky blushes over
Tarndwarncoort hill, occupied since 1840, origin of Polwarth sheep bred out of the first Merinos to leave Spain. 'Merino' means 'fugitive without a home', as so many of us are.

  1. You write of merinos - fugitives without a home - sheep, who like the rest of us living in this climate must endure unbearable heat, so far away from the home of their ancestors.

    I think of asylum seekers.

You can have my home Annie, so long as you don't mind the snow, the soaring gas bills and a couple of annoying cats who are going stir crazy because of the weather.

  7. Love the photo. Who needs a home? They're just places we fill up with stuff and have to clean.
